title: FALI: GC2/GAAC2

Japanese Gab behind a login

A new Japanese "free speech" platform showed up.
On Fedi people made comparisons with Gab.

However, "freespeech.gaac2.com" and "gaac2.com" seem to redirect to "gc2.jp" now.
The about page no longer seems to be working, and the TOS displays a Privacy Policy instead of a TOS, and at the very bottom it basically admits that it's a literal copypasta from the Discourse PP, both in the Japanese and English versions.
Looking at the original GAAC2 in an archive, the only rule seems to be "当SNSは言論の自由を尊重したSNSです。", or "This SNS respects freedom of speech.", so that sounds reasonable.

I created a temporary account there because there's otherwise nothing I can see here when it comes to whether it is what it claims to be or not.
It took me 2 hours for the activation link to finally arrive, I almost thought I would never receive it.

However, it seems like on the 24th of July (so roughly one week before the time of writing), GAAC2 decided officially defederate itself from the entire rest of the Fediverse, which is absolutely pathetic!

I've tested some things out that would guaranteed get me banned from Gab, like condemning actions done by the admin (more specifically, I criticized the very Toot you see in the screenshot above), and posting a loli.
They do have a hardcoded ero video search engine ad embedded, and there are active porn accounts and an ero artist (both with and without NSFW tags), which at least are some positive signs.
I'll update this post if or when I get banned.
And if I don't get banned, I'll at least update this post to notify you that it might indeed be a free speech platform after all, minus the fact it's defederated and behind a login wall, but that's OK if the reason is to have a little safe space for themselves.

And for the puritan morality police complaining about the lewdness, this is my website, so I decide what I show here.
If you don't like it, then just go fuck yourself, and cry to mommy.

Update 1

24 hours in, and it seems like it's indeed a proper free speech instance.
At first I thought they banned me as the frontend was spamming 403 errors, but then it turned out it's Cuckflared, and I was running over Tor, so the bloat, I mean JS scripts refused to work (but somehow the HTML, CSS, and images all worked, so it's pretty weird).
I'll still keep an eye on it, it's technically still centralized after all, so a blatant bait and switch is inevidable, but still a good place to find like minded Japanese people (or well, more like minded than the Shitter userbase for sure).
